it's NOT me who just left emma in her carseat because she was sleeping and proceeded to do other things around the house without checking on her for awhile only to find her sleeping soundly with her headband over her eyes.

hallelujah!!!!!!!!

i love sleep! i just got 6 hours of consecutive sleep on this friday night april 30th! she went to bed at 11 and woke up 5...went back to bed at 5:20 and slept til 8:30. i'm loving life this saturday morning!

dear emma

thank you for letting mommy sleep....you haven't let me sleep a full nights sleep since i was about 7 months pregnant with you.

you have made my day!

had to have a happy post after that one :)

today emma and i had to meet an appraiser at the house i'm selling for my mother-in-law. i was just hanging out with her in the backseat just talking and singing to her.

this just makes my day :) i feel like she looks different in every picture! i promise i'm taking pictures of the same baby!

oh wal-mart how i hate thee....

there are many reasons why i hate wal-mart and many reasons why i like wal-mart....

i feel like there are just some things that are cheaper at wal-mart...therefore i make the occasional trip. here are a few reasons why i don't like it:

...i feel dirty every single time i leave the store

...it's too big! once you to get to one end of the store you realize you need something at the other end!

...the circled baggy things...i always feel like i have to triple check them to make sure i didn't leave something because i don't always feel the checker outer person really loves their job all that much.

...the last reason needed a picture. i snapped this today. this is what was at my foot as i stepped out of the car. GRRRR! what if i had sandals on!! what if it was my child that stepped out of the car!!

on the news the other night they had a story that people were lobbying at the capital to have the government provide clean needles to people that need them. i think that is ridiculous to have our tax dollars to support people's drug habits and would they still discard them properly?? i'm guessing not.

just emma and i...

so i went to the grocery store a couple weeks ago and prior to going i planned out meals for 2 weeks....it helps me not only to know what to cook but also to make sure i actually use what i buy! emma watched me make lasagna on thursday....teaching her early how to be a help in the kitchen!

it's official...

i had no idea what day of the week it was on wednesday...i went all day thinking it was thursday. i set alarms for emma's feedings and couldn't figure out why they weren't going off...wrong day lauren :( i'm just convincing myself it's because russ was home sick on monday and it just threw me all off!

emma and i had a good day though! we went to kohl's and had to throw everything i had grabbed on a rack because of the screaming! i panic...we then went out to the car and changed her diaper and then headed to hobby lobby. i'm going to attempt making some bows! from there we went to gap....i desperately needed a pair of jeans and some shirts that fit my "new" figure. then we came home and russ and i grilled out!

it was a good day.

typical tuesday?

last night was a rough night...emma was not a happy camper and mommy was exhausted! so at 10:30 i buckled her up in her car seat and we went for a little drive...emilie wasn't having such a good night with mack so we chatted on the phone for awhile. i finally got some good sleep around 3 am.

therefore my tuesday was...well pretty lazy! i went back to bed and got up at a little after 11...emma and i hung out for awhile and then we got dressed and went to the post office...went for a walk (it was 70 and sunny)....we came home and started making some banana bread and dinner. she sits on our island in her bouncy chair and just stares at me and her toys! i made 6 loaves of banana bread! clearly we aren't good at finishing bananas when we get them!

emma slept through dinner and russ and i got to sit at the table and have adult conversation which i so needed! i missed him the last couple days!

after dinner we gave emma a bath and now we are watching american idol. casey james is one cute contestant and i loved his performance this week! i also like lee :)

bumbo!

russ is home sick today...he is much better than he was yesterday. we're having a lazy day. we have now moved to sharing the couch rather than being in separate rooms...we haven't moved to snuggling but at least we are in the same room :) we missed each other.

this morning emma was holding her head up so well we decided to see if she could fit in her bumbo seat (russ calls this and many other baby things bopit haha) she did pretty good! val (our dog) was very curious and kept trying to give her kisses...she's not at the point where she can be left unattended in the bumbo seat but it was fun to see her in it. someday her legs will have to be squeezed in there!

it's NOT me who continues to eat ice cream every night before bed even when i can't fit into my old jeans.

it's NOT me who came up with several excuses not to go on a walk this morning.

it's definitely NOT me who is completely addicted to scrabble and words with friends on my phone and sometimes stays awake even after emma has gone to sleep to finish a game. and unfortunately it's NOT me who loses about every game.

it's NOT me who has become addicted to HGTV and sometimes keeps it on throughout the day.

weekends like this...

when i wish there were 2 of me! russ has been sick since friday. today has been the worst day. he has been cooped up in our guest room and emma and i have been hanging out in our bedroom (trying to stay away from the germs!) taking care of both russ and emma has been quite exhausting...i miss my husband and he misses up...i hope you get better soon (and i pray that it doesn't get passes to me)

emma has started smiling at me this weekend....it makes me smile and brings me so much joy. i'm so happy to be her mom and i'm even more thankful to call her daughter.

dear emma....

why must you be an angel during the day but fussy at night when your daddy is home and trying to hold you?

i love nursing for so many reasons but tonight i love it the most because it's what calms her down and gets her to sleep.

i've been a little behind on blogging! so i'm going to catch her pictures up to 6 weeks!

she is growing so fast...every single day i feel like she changes! she is such a good baby! i went to the dr. last tuesday the 13th and she weighed 10 lbs 4 oz.

she loves her swing, her bouncy seat, and her jungle themed play yard (although only for about 20 minutes). we are trying to get her on a schedule and it's going pretty good. she is on a 3 hour schedule where she feeds, then we play, read, or sing, and then she goes down for a nap...we do that all day long! she actually falls asleep to my singing (shocking, i know!)

my sister, hillary, came up to visit on her spring break and she took some amazing pictures of her! my cousin bekah was also in colorado visiting her parents and she is an amazing photographer so we got home good pictures too!

3 days after emma was born i was an....

AUNTIE!!!!!!
emilie and gabe had their precious boy (and my precious nephew)!!!

mack lewis schmid was born on march 8th at 2:38 am! he was 7 lb 3 oz and 20 inches long!

emilie's water broke sunday morning....my parents got russ and i situated at home on sunday and took the first flight out to go meet their first grandson on monday morning! what a whirlwind weekend they had! i was so thankful to have them here to meet emma!

mack is just precious and i'm counting the days until i can meet him (may 6th!)
