Day 0 of the Pfeifer Addition - May 3, 2009

soooo the day has finally come!! tomorrow is when we start another huge project but we are soooo excited for this day! we love each other dearly but we can't wait for some more room! and most of all i can't wait for a couple of extra bedrooms so that i can have friends and family come visit me in colorado!!!
unfortunately, russ had to go out of town again to houston so i'm praying that everything goes smoothly this week and i don't get any calls saying something bursted! we met with the excavator (who will lay the foundation) and the plumber on friday afternoon and i feel very confident that they are going to do a good job.
once again...no judging on our house :) you have to see it as one of those houses on the show "flip this house" or any of those renovations shows! you really have to vision it :)
i love my husband

i love my hard working husband so much! i think it is just so cute when he likes to have "weekend projects". his favorite thing is to make a list and it can be something very small but it has to go on there so you can cross it off! i'm very much the same so we do enjoy crossing off our lists on saturday.
i took this picture of him working in our (AWFUL) backyard the other day...we are starting on our addition soon! and is MUCH needed...we do look like quite the trashy neighbors but we haven't wanted to put any money into the yard until the excavation part is finished! so no judging on the awful backyard.
Seriously??!?

i know i've been tardy on doing posts and i have just been taking pictures so now i'm just getting around to going through them :)
it snowed once again! last friday april 24th! what the heck?! my new least favorite word is "moisture" everyone in denver and on the news keeps saying "well we really need the moisture"...i need at least one sunny day on my day off!! they said it has been the 6th weekend in row for rainy/snowy/cloudy weather. i do miss the sunshine on a saturday afternoon!
but i can't complain...the grass is so pretty and our spring and summer should be beautiful! can't wait :)
Going Green Saves Money!

Russ and I are pretty good about recycling...that was kind of an issue when we moved to our new house...he is too cheap to pay the $7 a month! So we bought some trash cans and bins and recycle on our own and then take them to a recycling center. In my opinion I'd rather pay the $7 a month and be able to get rid of it each month...but needless to say I didn't win.
So I went to King Sooper's the other day and I FINALLY remembered to bring my totes and they took money off my grocery bill! It wasn't a whole lot but it could add up throughout the year and then you don't have all those annoying plastic bags!

snow in april?!

so growing up in texas we didn't see a whole lot of snow....i have gotten used to it most of the time but when we get most of the season's snow in March and April it just amazes me! there was a blizzard a few weeks ago where we FINALLY got to leave work early! (it's kind of a joke...when it snows my question to russ is..."do you think we have to go to work tomorrow??" and of course his answer is with a chuckle and a smile "no lauren, you aren't in texas")
yesterday (friday) it was threatening snow 10-20" and of course everyone was like yeah right...but they were right! we have about 15"! so russ stopped at our favorite the red box to get a few movies (we watched seven pounds...really good and sad movie) and he made chili and i made banana bread (not to eat together). it was a wonderful friday night! i'm always so thankful to have a night in with my hubby and our little dog :)
opening day!

russ and i both had good friday off from work...it was a great day to have with each other. we also went to opening day with some friends of ours! we met matt and jenn before christmas and it has been great having friends our age. they are getting married this weekend in texas! (another reason why i love hanging out with them!)
the rockies beat the philies which was very exciting...it was a gorgeous day for a baseball game!
