making a house feel like home...

russ has been very eager to get pictures on the wall...i finally got an idea of what i wanted to do and got to work...here are some pics of my picture wall i did.

brittany and elijah come to visit!

last weekend brittany and elijah made the trip to colorado! it was elijah's first flight and brittany said he did great! (technically it was his 2nd flight but the 1st time brittany was about 5 months pregnant with him).
i was so excited to have them in our new home! on saturday morning when we woke up it had snowed over night! elijah got to see snow for the first time. saturday we went to the cherry creek area and shopped around. we also went and had burgers at the cherry cricket (supposedly one of the best burgers in denver...they were pretty tasty!) saturday evening we came home and elijah was worn out from all the cold and shopping so we decided to stay at home and we cooked soup and watched a movie. sunday morning we went to church, then we went to boulder later that afternoon. after boulder we headed up to lookout mountain. from there we went to idaho springs and went to colorado's famous pizza restaurant beau jo's! it was a wondeful day and elijah was an angel and just went with the flow!

house is finished!!!

our house is now finished....i believe in an earlier post i said i just need to finish the decorating touches, etc. but to see those you'll have to come visit us soon!!!

the backyard fire pit and patio is still a work in progress too....we have a well in our backyard so we had to incorporate that so that is why that is there :) we couldn't plant grass on concrete.

i can't wait for brittany and elijah to come and for my parents to come!!! all in october :)) i'm so excited!!

more pictures from august texas visit!

we had a wonderful time in texas....a few of the highlights!

1) got to tell my family and friends in person! got brittany's captured on camera :) elijah got scared when brittany screamed :( )

2) hanging by the pool with family and friends and their beautiful babies!

3) going with the family to see the bats (emilie and russ had never seen before)...that fam pic is not good but it was the only one i had!! haha my eyes look batty

4) getting to see where emilie works!

5) also getting to see all of hillary's dorm room stuff and being with her before she went to school!

my growing belly....

it is amazing how fast my body is changing...it is such a miracle that is growing inside of me!! i was able to get by with unbuttoning my pants and using a rubber band to hold them on but this week that was not working anymore so i got a belly band! let's just say it has made my week much much more comfortable!

i have only had a few comments on my growing belly....one lady guessed that i was 5 months along....not quite...she felt bad but i tried to tell her it was okay. today, after i left the gym i ran into a group of russ's friends and the first comment out of one of their mouths was "whoah you're getting big!" i must have given him a strange look while saying (and smiling) "well thanks!" because shortly after he texted russ and said for him to apologize to me that he meant no harm in his comment. haha of course russ called him and said "are you calling my wife fat??"

1st picture was the week after we found out (so i was about 5 weeks)

2nd pictures was the week of our 1st sonogram (so i was about 9 weeks)

3rd picture is of today (and i just got done eating dinner!!) - (almost 14 weeks)

first doctor's appointment!

we had our first doctor's appointment on august 19th....russ came with me and we got to see our first sonogram....the baby had a heartbeat of 173! the doctor said everything looked great and that our due date would be march 25, 2010!

my second appointment was on september 16th....russ didn't come with me because it was just a check up but i ended up having a sonogram. (their equipment is a little old - technology wise) and she was trying to find the heartbeat with what looks like a walkie talkie with a cord but couldn't find it....so i had another sonogram so that she could see the heartbeat....it was there!! she said everything looked great and the hearbeat had slowed down to 161 this time.

this week our baby is the size of a lemon...he/she can squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb.

while i was in texas my good friend sarah had her baby!!! it was perfect timing and i got to meet him!

he is a gorgeous baby and had gorgeous hair....it was so fun to get to meet him and to see sarah and eric!
